MIlton Keynes University Hospital Cancer Centre

Courtyard light sculptures

No items found.

The Milton Keynes Hospital Charity ran a competition for an artist to design a sculpture for their Cancer Centre Garden. Art in Site’s Light Sculpture, designed by Martin Jones was the winning entry.

The sculptures are made of robust solid surface material, and glow from within, shift from one column to the other, as if they are communicating.

The glowing hues track the sky and sunlight of a perfect day. Staff named the sculpture, ‘Together” reflecting the mutual support of patients and staff.

The sculpture is equally visible from the waiting room and the chemotherapy area, and is particularly mood-lifting on a grey or rainy day.
