Our art scheme for Children’s Emergency has won a highly commended prize at the European Healthcare Awards 2017. The European Healthcare Design conference is quickly establishing itself as one of the most important healthcare conferences worldwide, and it’s 3rd year outing was its best yet.

Art in Site attended the conference and spoke to an international crowd of healthcare professionals, architects, and designers on the award-winning project Children’s Emergency. Director Martin Jones shared the podium with our clinical collaborator John Criddle, who led the rebuild of Children’s Emergency and was invaluable in providing us with clinical and psychological insights throughout the project.

Alongside, Art in Site’s other director Louisa Williams spoke about the New QEII project in Welwyn Garden city, commenting on the role of art in creating civic pride and a sense of societal care in hospitals. She was joined on stage by Mark Rowe of Penoyre & Prasad (the architects of the hospital) and Jacquie Bunce from NHS East and North Hertfordshire CCG.
